“Fort-401” - light machinegun of 5,56x45 mm (7,62x51 mm) caliber intended to increase infantry firepower and meets all requirements of modern warfare. “Fort-401” can be fired either from hands and bipod or from various transport mounts.
“Fort-401” is an air-cooled light machine gun. It features quick-detachable barrels, with two barrel sizes available – standard and short.
“Fort-401” has dual feed system, so it can alternatively use standard disintegrating belts or detachable box magazines form “Fort-221” assault rifle. Belts of 150-200 round capacity can be used either itself or fed from soft assault drum.
Standard accessories include side-folded butt-stock, detachable bipod, and grip for carrying mounted on the barrel. Additionally various kinds of sights can be mounted on the Picatinny rail on the top of receiver and fore grip under the barrel.
